Lourdes Diaz Joins NBC as VP, Drama Programming

Three executives are promoted in drama, comedy programming departments

Lourdes Diaz has joined NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios as vice president of drama programming. In other key program posts, Rebecca McGill has been promoted to director and Joey Chavez to manager of drama programming and Mike Nunes was upped to manager of comedy programming.

Diaz, McGill and Chavez will report to Laura Lancaster, executive VP of drama programming for NBC/UMS; Nunes will report to Jeff Ingold, who holds the same title on the comedy side.

Diaz (left) will oversee current drama series and development. McGill will oversee current drama series and will continue to handle daytime program duties for “Days of our Lives.” Chavez, who previously was an NBC Universal Entertainment associate, will assist in overseeing various current drama series and development. Nunes, also previously as an NBC Universal Entertainment associate, will help to oversee current comedy series and development.

Diaz founded Agua Entertainment Group, specializing in film, TV and new-media projects. She previously was general manager of visual content for VOY and has served in senior positions at ICM and Orion Pictures. She also was head of development and production for Green Moon Productions, the production company of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith. Diaz has developed, packaged and/or produced more than 20 feature films and television programs, including “And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself” for HBO.
