Ken Jeong, Isaiah Mustafa and Eddie McClintock Send ‘Love Bites’ Into Orbit (Video)

Funny trio’s bit on the International Space Station provides NBC summer anthology’s high point

"Love Bites," NBC's summer anthology series, has had a rocky start in the ratings through three outings — but that's not necessarily a statement about its content.

Not only did the light-hearted jumble, which stars Becky Newton and Greg Gunberg and a slew of guest actors, face the obstacle of having its first two episodes air opposite NBA Finals games, but the 10 p.m. show also follows two hours of low-rated sitcom reruns on Thursday nights.

While this week's episode might not send the ratings into the stratosphere, at least those who watch it will laugh heartily. That's because Ken Jeong from NBC's "Community," Eddie McClintock from Syfy's "Warehouse 13" and Isaiah Mustafa from those still ridiculous Old Spice ads turn up as astronauts in one of tonight's three storylines.

During a three-month stint on the International Space Station, McClintock's character suspects that his girlfriend back home is having an affair with another man — namely, Randy, a purported landscaping specialist calling himself the "Randscaper," who interrupts our cuckolded hero's video chat with his lady. Naturally, McClintock and his orbiting buddies use their NASA know-how to commandeer a satellite and check up on her.

A fine use of taxpayer dollars!

"Love Bites" airs tonight, Thursday, June 19, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
