Lupita Nyong’o in Talks to Star in Amblin Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Intelligent Life’

Alien love story has a script from “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Derek Connolly

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o may have found her next big gig — one that will send her back to outer space.

“Intelligent Life,” from Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin Partners, is a sci-fi thriller and love story being considered by the the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress, an individual familiar with the talks told TheWrap.

No director is attached to the project. Initial reports said the production was circling Ava DuVernay, but the “Selma” filmmaker has not yet received an offer.

The script is written by “Jurassic World” helmer Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Derek Connolly. It’s said to follow a special department within the United Nations that cultivates ambassadors for the human race should aliens make contact with earth.

Nyong’o will next appear in the voice ensemble for Jon Favreau‘s live action “Jungle Book,” which also counts Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johannson and Bill Murray on the Disney payroll.
