Grammy Award winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will lend their hit song “Same Love” to a PSA kicking off USA Network’s month-long “Characters Unite” campaign against hate and discrimination.
“We intended ‘Same Love’ to help spread a message of love, tolerance and acceptance and we are proud to align ourselves with the ‘Characters Unite’ movement which shares the same goal,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis said in a written statement about their pro-gay marriage, life-affirming song.

“Through the new ‘Characters Unite’ PSA, we hope to inspire even more people to take part in such an important cause.”
The PSA, titled “I Won’t Stand For…” stars the hip-hop duo as well as USA talent including Matt Bomer (“White Collar”), Patrick J. Adams and Gina Torres (“Suits”) and Reshma Shetty (“Royal Pains”).

This will be the fourth year for “Characters Unite Month” — a play off USA Network’s “Characters Welcome” brand — its most expansive promotional campaign including digital content, on-air programming, and community events.
