‘Mad Men’ Season 7 Teaser Flies the Groovy Skies (Video)

Air travel and ’60s fashion collide in stylish snippet for AMC drama

“Mad Men” returns for its seventh and final season on April 13, and AMC has released a short and cryptic, but visually stunning, teaser for the series’ last run.

The snippet features Don Draper and crew at the airport, decked out in all their ’60s finery, and while it’s tempting to take the travel theme as some kind of metaphor for what’s in store — particularly given the teaser’s tag line, “It’s all up in the air” — it’s probably best to go easy on the analysis.

Discussing a set of similarly themed promo photos, series creator Matthew Weiner told TheWrap that sometimes an airport is just an airport.

“We picked the airport this year because it harkens back to something that has truly disappeared, which is — not the adventure of travel, hopefully that will never go away — but certainly the idea of glamour and travel is gone,” Weiner said. “We don’t see Peggy waiting in line with her iPod and sweat pants.”
