Ratings: ‘Madam Secretary’ Dives in Key Demo, But Tops Sunday in Total Viewers

ABC tops evening among adults 18-49, sees a double-digit rise from “Secrets & Lies”

CBS’s “Madam Secretary” dropped 29 percent in the key ratings demographic, but still managed to be Sunday’s most-watched show overall, with 10.4 million viewers.

For first-place ABC, “Secrets & Lies” ticked up 13 percent among adults 18-49. It matched lead-in “Once Upon a Time” as the top-rated show of the evening.

ABC was first in ratings with a 1.5 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 5.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 p.m. had a 1.5/5 and 6.1 million viewers. “Once Upon a Time” at 8 posted a 1.7/5 and 5.1 million viewers. “Secrets & Lies” at 9 rose to a 1.7/5 and 5.7 million viewers. “Revenge” at 10 received a 1.0/3 and 4.5 million viewers.

Fox was second in ratings with a 1.2/4, but fourth in viewers with 2.7 million. Following a rerun, “Bob’s Burgers” at 7:30 got a 0.9/3 and 2 million viewers. “The Simpsons” at 8 had a 1.5/5 and 3.3 million viewers. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” at 8:30 returned to a 1.5/4 and 2.8 million viewers. “Family Guy” at 9 received a 1.5/4 and 3.2 million viewers. “The Last Man on Earth” at 9:30 posted a 1.4/4 and 3.2 million viewers.

CBS and NBC tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.9/3. CBS was first in viewers with 8.9 million total viewers; NBC was third with 5.2 million.

For CBS, “60 Minutes” at 7 got a 1.1/4 and 10.2 million viewers. “Madam Secretary” at 8 had a 1.0/3 and 10.4 million viewers. “The Good Wife” at 9 received a 1.0/3 and 8.7 million viewers. “Battle Creek” at 10 posted a 0.7/2 and 6.2 million viewers.

For NBC, “Dateline” at 7 got a 1.0/4 and 6 million viewers. “A.D.: The Bible Continues” at 9 had a 1.1/3 and 5.7 million viewers. “American Odyssey” at 10 stayed low with a 0.5/2 and 2.9 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.8/2 and in viewers with 1.9 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million.
