‘Magic Mike’ Honest Trailer Mocks Channing Tatum’s Original ‘Thongs to Riches’ Stripper Film (Video)

“If you love strippers but wish you could see all the mundane details of their daily lives,” voice-over for spoof says

In honor of “Magic Mike XXL” grinding into theaters on July 1, the team at Screen Junkies has released a video for the “Honest Trailers” web series to relive the original’s erotic dancing and mundane dialogue.

“Magic Mike” was marketed as a celebration of Channing Tatum and his male stripper friends’ abs, but, as Screen Junkies points out, the “thongs to riches” flick ended up being too much about life problems and not enough raw action.

“If you love strippers but wish you could see all the mundane details of their daily lives,” the voice-over teases, “prepare to watch a lot of that, you weirdo.”

The comedic video doesn’t hold back as it digs into “Magic Mike,” including: “Get swept away by the film’s fantasy romance that would have you believe Mike would ditch a life of casual threesomes with Olivia Munn to pursue a sour puss who can’t laugh like a human being. Giving hope to women everywhere.

“So get ready for what is either a really dumb version of ‘Boogie Nights’ or a really smart version of ‘Showgirls.’”

“Honest Trailers” launched in 2012 and has received over 550 million views on YouTube. They have created trailers for major releases like “Inside Out,” “Batman v. Superman” and “The Avengers.”
