WWE superstar R-Truth (aka Ron Killings) and former WWE diva Maria Kanellis have signed with Advanced Management for representation, TheWrap has learned.
With their flair for theatrics and toned physiques, wrestlers have been branching out into film and television more than ever lately, as they’ve been in high demand in both mediums. Not only has former wrestling superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has blossomed into one of Hollywood’s most reliable leading men, but Dave Bautista stars in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Hornswoggle plays the title character in Lionsgate’s “Leprechaun: Origins.”
Killings is a professional wrestler and rapper who has appeared on WWE’s “Raw,” “Smackdown” and “Main Event.” Killings has been a member of the WWE family since 2008 and is currently working on his first hip-hop LP, which is expected to feature songs with John Cena and Wiz Khalifa.
Kanellis currently serves as the First Lady of Ring of Honor Wrestling, which airs on the Sinclair Broadcast Group’s stations across the country. Best known as a former professional wrestler and personality within WWE, Kanellis was also a contestant on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” and a correspondent for HDNet’s MMA series “King of the Cage,” which hailed from Mark Burnett Productions. In 2010, Kanellis released her first music album, a four-song EP titled “Seven Sins.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with both Ron and Maria,” said Advanced Management’s Gary Reichman. “Their extraordinary personas coupled with their backgrounds in wrestling, make them unique individuals for casting. We anticipate much success with them both.”
A full-service talent management company based in Los Angeles, Advanced Management was founded in 2011 by partners Gary Ousdahl and Danny Costanzo. The company is a division of Up Late Entertainment Group.
