Ruffalo plays Ned Weeks, a fictionalized version of Kramer in the semi-autobiographical story about dealing with the HIV/AIDS crisis within the gay community in the 1980s, and the politics activists had to overcome in order to expose the truth about an epidemic to a city and nation in denial.

“Normal Heart” premieres on May 25.
