Ratings: NBC’s ‘Marry Me’ and ‘About a Boy’ See Big Boosts, Net Settles for Second

CBS tops night as dramas “NCIS,” “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Person of Interest” rise

CBS topped Tuesday with a lineup of “NCIS,” “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Person of Interest,” all pulling in double-digit ratings growth.

Also seeing large percentage increases were NBC comedies “Marry Me” and “About a Boy.” That network finished in second.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.2 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 14.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “NCIS” at 8 p.m. earned night-highs of a 2.6/8 — which tied with “The Voice” — and 17.9 million viewers. “NCIS: New Orleans” at 9 received a 2.3/6 and 16.7 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 rose 23 percent to a 1.6/5 and 9.7 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 2.0/6 and in viewers with 7.7 million. “The Voice” at 8 earned a 2.6/8 — tying with “NCIS” atop the Nielsen sheets — and 10.5 million viewers. “Marry Me” at 9 increased 23 percent to a 1.6/5 and had 5.3 million viewers. “About a Boy” at 9:30 jumped 44 percent to a 1.3/4 and had 4.3 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 10 received a 2.0/6 and 7.7 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 1.4/4 and fourth in viewers with 3.4 million. “MasterChef Junior” at 8 had a 1.5/5 and 4.2 million viewers. “New Girl” at 9 got a 1.4/4 and 2.8 million viewers. “The Mindy Project” at 9:30 received a 1.1/3 and 2.4 million viewers.

ABC, CW and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, all with a 1.2/4. ABC was third in viewers with 4.5 million viewers; CW was fifth with 3.1 million; Univision was sixth with 3 million.

For ABC, following a rerun, “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” had a 1.6/5 and 4.5 million viewers. “Forever” at 10 got a 1.0/3 and 4.4 million viewers.

For the CW, “The Flash” at 8 received a 1.3/4 and 3.6 million viewers. “Supernatural” at 9 had a 1.0/3 and 2.6 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers with 1.4 million.
