Martin Lawrence-Kelsey Grammer FX Comedy ‘Partners’ Gets Premiere Date

Series about two Chicago lawyers from very different backgrounds debuts Aug. 4, paired with “Anger Management”

FX has set Monday, Aug. 4 as the premiere date for the new Martin LawrenceKelsey Grammer comedy “Partners.”

The network will air two back-to-back episodes of the show in the 9 p.m. hour for five consecutive weeks. Also beginning Aug. 4, “Anger Management” will move to Mondays and air back-to-back episodes in the 10 p.m. hour.

Grammer and Lawrence play two Chicago lawyers from very different backgrounds who meet in court as each faces a personal crisis. Marcus Jackson (Lawrence) is a kindly community activist going through a divorce when he meets Allen Braddock (Grammer), an elitist lawyer just fired from his father’s firm. Other series regulars include Telma Hopkins, Rory O’Malley, McKaley Miller, Edi Patterson and Danièle Watts.

Bob Boyett and Robert Horn serve as executive producers and showrunners. Also executive producing are Lawrence, Grammer, Brian Sher, Stella Bulochnikov, Michael Green and Sam Maydew. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Grammnet NH Productions and You Go Boy Productions, and distributed by Debmar-Mercury.

The show will follow the “Anger Management” model in which, if it meets designated ratings thresholds over its first 10-episode run, it will receive an additional 90-episode order.
