Martin Sheen Compares Son’s Addiction Fight to Cancer

“He’s doing well. We pray for him,” father says of Charlie Sheen

Martin Sheen compared son Charlie Sheen's fight with addiction to cancer in an interview with Britain's Sky News.

"He's doing well,"  We pray for him," the Emmy-winning actor said. "If he had cancer, how would you treat him?"

He added: "This disease of addiction is a form of cancer. You have to have an equal measure of concern and love and lift him up."

Charlie Sheen is expected to return to shooting his CBS sitcom, "Two and a Half Men," on Monday. He announced Jan. 28 he was going back to rehab, and has since said he is now "100 percent" sober.
