Marvel, Hero Ventures Plan Traveling Superhero Attraction for 2014

The attraction will include movies, animation, rides and much more

Marvel and Hero Ventures are creating "The Marvel Experience," a traveling attraction that including rides, movies and a dome the size of two football fields, the companies will announce on Thursday.

Details on the attraction remain vague, but it will feature dozens of Marvel characters and offer a "first-person" adventure permitting participants to become a part of the story. It will also include a 4D ride.

"Hero Ventures is developing a themed entertainment concept that we expect will be a transformative, traveling destination that will deliver to fans and families an exciting, groundbreaking and unique experience," Sean Haran, Marvel’s VP of business development, said in a statement.

Hero Ventures is a Los Angeles based entertainment company founded by entrepreneurs Rick Licht and Doug Schaer and backed financially by investors including Roy P. Disney, Oscar-winning film producer Steve Tisch and the WWE among others.

Former Live Nation Chairman Michal Cohl and "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" co producer Jeremiah “Jere” Harries will produce the attraction, which will also include animation, comic origin stories, holographic simulations and original merchandise.

"The dynamic creative elements we’re developing are going to enable anyone to feel like a Super Hero like Spider-Man or Captain America," Licht said in a statement.
