‘Descendants’ Star Cameron Boyce on ‘Spider-Man’ Role: ‘It Doesn’t Get Much Better’ (Exclusive Video)

“I don’t think he ever wanted to be some kind of superhero,” Boyce says of “Marvel’s Spider-Man” character

Cameron Boyce’s character is out of his element on “Marvel’s Spider-Man.”

The “Descendants” star is a guest on Saturday’s episode of the Disney XD animated series, voicing Herman Shultz, known as Shocker. Boyce says in a video interview exclusive to TheWrap that Herman is a young scientist who “gets in over his head.”

“I don’t think he ever wanted to be some kind of superhero,” the actor says. “I think he just created some technology that’s incredible and that sort of gave him super powers.”

Boyce adds about himself that he “grew up on Marvel, so to be a part of that now is really cool because Spider-Man is an iconic character.”

“I love voiceover work — I think it’s fun,” the “Grown Ups” actor says. “To be able to be doing voiceover, and to be able to be doing Spider-Man, it doesn’t get much better than that.”

“Marvel’s Spider-Man” airs Saturdays at 7 a.m. ET on Disney XD.
