Tony organizers announce the 50 theater professionals who will decide nominations for next year’s awards

Actors John Leguizamo, Cheyenne Jackson, Marsha Mason and Mary-Louise Parker and playwrights Rick Elice and Stephen Karam will be part of the 2014-2015 Tony Awards Nominating Committee, the American Theatre Wing announced on Wednesday.

The Nominating Committee is made up of 50 theater professionals who serve overlapping three-year terms. The members attend every Broadway production during the eligibility year, and meet on a specified date to select Tony nominees.

Winners are determined by a vote of American Theatre Wing members and other theater professionals, with more than 800 eligible voters.
