‘Masters of Sex’ Swells Modestly Over Premiere Ratings; ‘Homeland’ Holds Steady

“Masters of Sex” notched 1.1 million total viewers

Showtime’s “Masters of Sex” has emerged from its refractory period bigger and more forceful than ever.

The new showtime drama — which stars Michael Sheen as sex researcher William Masters — aired its second episode on Sunday, enjoying a 9 percent spurt in the ratings over its series premiere.

Sunday’s episode at 10 p.m. drew 1.1 million total viewers, versus 1 million total viewers.

Meanwhile, the network’s drama “Homeland,” which premiered its third season last week to its best premiere numbers so far, mostly retained its premiere viewership in its second week, drawing 1.83 million total viewers with its 9 p.m. airing compared to 1.9 million for the premiere.

For the night, “Homeland” had 2.5 million total viewers, compared to the total 2.61 million for the premiere night.
