Meagan Good Joins ‘Californication’ for Season 5

“Stomp the Yard” actress will play a singer who captures Hank Moody’s overactive fancy

Meagan Good will soon be subjected to the erotic charms of Hank Moody.

The "Stomp the Yard" star has signed on for a major recurring role on the David Duchovny-starring Showtime comedy "Californication," which is preparing to go into its fifth season, the cable outlet said Friday.

Good will play up-and-coming singer Kali, who "sparks a flame" in Duchovny's lecherous writer character Moody. Good's character will also be the protege of the hip-hop mogul (portrayed by guest star RZA) who hires Hank to write a screenplay for his upcoming film.

Good will appear in eight of the season's 12 episodes. Production for the new season begins in May.

Good, who recently had a guest-starring stint on BET's "The Game," also has three movies scheduled for release in the coming months, including the drama "Video Girl," which she will star in and produce.
