Company officials want ISPs to start sharing some of the cost burden for streaming video; and on Wednesday, CEO Reed Hastings threatened to share some potentially embarrassing data about ISP performance

Netflix officials are mad as hell that Internet service providers are requiring them to carry all the cost burden of streaming video through their networks … and they're not going to take it anymore.

On Wednesday, in a letter to investors, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said he's prepared to share some interesting data with the public, ranking the relative performance of competing ISPs.

Of course, that's potentially embarrassing, if you run an ISP with sub-par data-transfer performance.
