Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones & Co. disclosed plans to merge its two largest business units, continuing efforts under parent News Corp. to foster more cooperation at the company.
The consumer media group, which includes the Journal, MarketWatch, Barron's and other publications, is joining with the enterprise media group, which includes Dow Jones Newswires, the Factiva database service and other news and information products.
