"New Normal," "Days of Our Lives" and "America Horror Story: Asylum" win for TV and Betty White gets kissed
“Perks of Being a Wallflower” took home the top movie honors at the 24th annual GLAAD Media Awards held Saturday night in Los Angeles.
"The New Normal” and its daytime drama "Days of Our Lives,” both from NBC, were big winners on the TV side, along with FX's thriller "American Horror Story: Asylum."
The GLAAD awards pay tribute to “inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.”
Former President Bill Clinton was honored with the first Advocate for Change award, which was presented by Jennifer Lawrence, Chelsea Clinton and Harvey Weinstein.
White had the black-tie crowd laughing as she auctioned off kisses for charity. She got one from presenter "Magic Mike" star Alex Pettyfer — and another from Cloris Leachman.
Additional 2013 GLAAD Media Awards were presented in New York on March 16. The final awards will be presented in San Francisco May 11.
