More than 175 comedians will perform upwards of 50 shows
The New York Comedy Festival has booked Larry David, Bill Maher and Whitney Cummings for the 10th anniversary of the event, which spans iconic New York Venues such as the Beacon Theater and Carnegie Hall.
David, co-creator of “Seinfeld” and both creator and star of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” will appear onstage for a conversation with comedian David Steinberg. Other top comedians, such as Cummings, Maher, Kathy Griffin and Nick Swardson, will all perform.
“I'm thrilled to play the New York Comedy Festival again this year, where I will again attempt to push the envelope beyond where even the other comics will go — I strive always to be Carlos Danger!” Bill Maher said in a statement.
More than 175 comedians will perform upwards of 50 shows this year, its 10th. Comedy Central co-presents the event, which takes place in early November.
“It’s quite an achievement for the festival to reach 10 years,” Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway, said in a statement. “In recognition of the anniversary, I think we’ve put together a really impressive lineup of comedy talent.
The festival has served as not just a celebration of all things comedy but a shooting location for a pair of recent popular concert films – “Louis C.L. Live at the Beacon Theater” and “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain.”
