Why Aren't the Oscars Honest, Fair and Deliberate?

Recently, a reporter wanted to know my response to our film, “2016 – Obama’s America” not being nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Documentary category. It seems my answer has set off a firestorm of commentary.
Why? I suppose its because many are aware that the process by which films are honored clearly lacks fairness and balance resulting in the exclusion of films that don’t resonate with a certain agenda.
The article included some interesting points that beg to be noted. When we are long gone from this earth, most of us will be remembered for one, maybe two things we did during our lifetime. Although I cherish the thought of being remembered as a loving father, husband, brother and great American first and foremost, there will be those who will remember me as one of the producers of the films "Schindler's List" and "2016: Obama’s America."
I will always be proud of them both but I will be especially proud and treasure the night we stood before the world and accepted the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1993 for "Schindler's List."
