AOL CEO Tim Armstrong: No Interest in Yahoo Merger (Video)

AOL Chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong told AllThingsD's Peter Kafka that he is not interested in merging with Yahoo after Wednesday's earnings report.

Rumors of a potential merger resurfaced after the ouster of former Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, and Armstrong was believed to be a big proponent of the deal.

However, Armstrong said the following on Wednesday:

“… When I think about our company and where our future is, and those things, it’s really as an independent entity, and being very focused on our core strategy.”

Both AOL and Yahoo, early titans of the Internet, have struggled in past years. However, Armstrong seems to be very pleased with his company's performance in the third quarter.

Yahoo has denied any interest in merging with AOL.
