ABC announced on Thursday that Barbara Walters, who underwent heart valve surgery in May, will make her first televised appearance on "The View" on Monday, July 12.
The 80-year-old creator and co-host will appear live between 11 a.m. and noon (ET) -- and will do so, oddly, via Skype, the network said.
In May, Walters announced her surgery on "The View."
"Later this week, I'm going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve,” Walters said. “Lots of people have done this and I have known about this condition for a while now."
