Fred Schruers Joins TheWrap as Senior Writer

Fred Schruers, the uniquely talented and nationally respected journalist formerly of Rolling Stone, Premiere and Portfolio.com, joins TheWrap as a senior writer

I'm thrilled to share the news with you that Fred Schruers, the uniquely talented and nationally respected journalist, joins TheWrap as a senior writer.

Fred was previously a high-profile profile writer for Rolling Stone, but also wrote a well-read business blog about the entertainment industry at Portfolio.com in addition to being one of Premiere magazine's most loved-and-feared figures (he wrote the annual Power List).

He will have a wide-ranging brief to write about moguls, new and old media, movies, music and the game of chess at the highest levels of the shifting entertainment business.

In a news release on Thursday I observe: "Fred is one of the liveliest and most knowledgeable observers of the entertainment landscape, and I can’t wait to hear what he has to say about Hollywood in 2011."

Please join me in welcoming Fred to TheWrap family. He starts in mid-July; send him your tips and juicy stories.
