Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos tells TheWrap's Brent Lang about the company's evolution from distributor to programmer
Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has a busy year ahead.
Netflix is launching five original shows in 2013: David Fincher's "House of Cards"; "Arrested Development"; "Hemlock Grove," a horror thriller produced and directed by Eli Roth; "Derek," written by and starring Ricky Gervais; and "Orange is the New Black" from Jenji Kohan, as well as season two of the Steven Van Zandt series "Lillyhammer."
Sarandos, speaking Tuesday at TheWrap's industry conference TheGrill, calls Netflix "a television network on steroids" with the company now streaming more than a billion hours of content a month.
