Before starting his new show at CurrentTV Monday, Keith Olbermann may have picked up a second job – ombudsman for media coverage of himself.
The Hollywood Reporter ran a story about Olbermann’s press conference on Friday — but accompanying it was a picture from his Thursday appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Even though THR was at the conference.
Within 20 minutes, Olbermann took to Twitter, writing: “Know what I really like about Hollywood Reporter story on today's news conf? The picture was taken yesterday at NBC!”
That sparked a series of tweets on the coverage, which was mostly positive. He called Yahoo’s coverage “pretty good” though lamented that the word “bullshit” seemed redacted. His highest praise was reserved for Philly.com’s Ellen Gray who “get its, as always.”
In the lead-up to his new show, Olbermann has regularly taken to Twitter to respond to coverage of himself. As with Friday stories, his reviews have been mixed. Of David Carr’s piece in the upcoming New York Times Sunday Magazine, Olbermann tweeted: “Well at least there's another caricature amid the cliches.”
