It perhaps was only logical the health care debate in Washington would end up with Hollywood echoes, but the reverberations today include a new web video featuring Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm and others supporting health care reform.

Produced by Funnyordie.com and the activist political group MoveOn.org, the video also features “Mad Men’s” Hamm; House’s Olivia Wilde;  “Reno 911’s” Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant; “Heroes’”  Masi Oka; “My Boys’" Jordana Spiro; “Scrubs’” Donald Faison and also Linda Cardellini from “ER” and “Freaks & Geeks.”

In the video, the actors express tongue-in-cheek concern about health insurance companies and its profits and fake scorn about the possibility that Congress might include a public health insurance option.

The 2 minute and 20 second video is slated to appear on websites, but not on TV.

In a statement announcing the video, several of the actors and actresses said they participated because they were supportive of the cause.

“I was thrilled to participate in this video because I'm one of the millions of Americans who considers health care to be a basic human right,” said “House’s” Olivia Wilde.

In a statement MoveOn.org executive director Justin Ruben said the thinks the video “hit a home run … depicting who exactly the "victims" are in this crisis and the profit motive that will keep the insurance industry fighting tooth and nail against a public option.”
