Will Arnett, Jason Bateman Launch Online Talk Show Set in Denny’s

Latest creative partnership for Electus’ DumbDumb digital studio

Will Arnett and Jason Bateman’s digital studio announced on Monday its latest offering: “Always Open,” a celebrity talk show set in a Denny’s restaurant.

The three-minute show — produced by DumbDumb, the production company the duo launched with Ben Silverman’s Electus last year — will be hosted by David Koechner, who you'll probably recognize from "Anchorman." Bateman himself is the first guest, and upcoming diners include Arnett, his wife Amy Poehler, and some of Bateman and Arnett’s comedy pals, like Sarah Silverman, Will Forte and Kristin Bell.

The show is part of Denny’s latest campaign — developed by the ad agency Gotham — to showcase the chain as "America’s Diner," and "a warm and welcoming place where friends and family get together and 'open up.'"

And Koechner and Bateman do manage to keep the improvised comedy and conversation family-friendly, with the slight exception of a vague sex joke delivered by Bateman.

"Always Open" will be distributed online via CollegeHumor.com, Dennys.com, DumbDumb.com as well as YouTube, Facebook and assorted social media platforms, Electus says.

Last year, Arnett and Bateman produced a series of shorts for Electus through DumbDumb, each with embedded advertising content — including this one for Orbitz gum.
