We are looking for an energetic, digitally-savvy reporter who is passionate about the business of entertainment and wants to learn everything about it. Job entails both blogging and original reporting, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time beat reporter. The ideal candidate is familiar with the fast-paced, highly competitive world of online entertainment industry coverage. Drupal Developer

TheWrap, based in West Los Angeles, is seeking a full-time Drupal Developer. This is a key role for this high-profile company in the entertainment news arena. While excellent programming skills are critical for this position, as a member of a small development team you must also be able to work autonomously without major guidance. You need to be current with emerging technologies, understand how they can support the company’s mission, and have the technical ability to implement them.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously evaluate company web sites and other digital products for ways to enhance front- and back-end user experience, audience engagement, social interaction, and usability.

  • Prototype, design, develop, test, and launch new products and features.

  • Work with our ad sales team to develop new products and enhancements to strengthen our ad offerings and troubleshoot ad creative and serving when necessary.

  • Work with our editorial team to develop enhancements to our content management system and troubleshoot problems.

  • Develop custom Drupal modules, maintain existing code and refactor legacy systems

Skills/Technologies

  • PHP5, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery) Drupal, Unix command line, Git, XML

  • Experience using Web API calls and Web services

  • Database design and optimization experience

  • Frontend Design using XHTML/CSS/CSS3/JavaScript; Photoshop (Drupal theming system)

Education/Experience

  • BS/BA or higher in Computer Science or related field

  • 4 years demonstrable experience in web development or related field

  • 2 years demonstrable experience in Drupal module / theme development
