Facebook has become the most visited website in the United States, thanks to millions of people using the social networking site to play online games.
The social networking site, which has seen phenomenal growth around the world, for the first time surpassed Google.com for a whole week in the U.S. last week, according to web analytics firm Hitwise.
Facebook has more than 400 million regular users worldwide, and its games such as FarmVille, with 83 million players worldwide, are boosting its traffic.
Google reacted to the threat of Facebook by launching its own social network, Google Buzz, within its Gmail service last month, but it got off to a rocky start.
