AwesomenessTV Launches Channel for Guys (Like Jeffrey Katzenberg Said It Would)

AwesomenessTV has launched AwesomenessX, a new YouTube channel for male teens and tweens to complement the company’s flagship channel for female teens and tweens. AwesomenessX will focus on sports, gaming and comedy shows.

It launches with a variety of series, including “David Wise,” a documentary series following the titular X-Games gold medalist; “Hot Models,” a weekly show featuring photoshoots of swimsuit models; and “Baby Gaga,” a weekly show featuring a talking baby who breaks down the web’s best videos of his fellow toddlers.

Several shows from AwesomenessTV will also migrate over to this new channel, including “Blow Up Guys” and “The City – Basketball.”

NBC announced on Friday that pop diva Christina Aguilera and funk singer Cee Lo Green will be reuniting with pop star Adam Levine and country singer Blake Shelton for Season 5, as TheWrap was the first to report.

The network also said that Shakira and Usher are set to return on Season 6, which will air in midseason 2014.

"We locked in a plan several months ago to have the outstanding Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green rejoin Blake and Adam for cycle 5, and we're pleased to announce that the original four coaches are going to be back together in the fall," said president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy in a statement....

Michael Musto and Michael Feingold will no longer be heard at the Village Voice.

Voice Media Group announced Friday that it has let go long-time gossip columnist Musto and theater critic Feingold from the Voice staff as part of a restructuring. Musto and Feingold will part ways with the Voice as of next week.

Bruce Rosenblum Exits Warner Bros. 'With a Heavy Heart'

Following an announcement earlier this week that Warner Bros. is overhauling its television and home video operations, exiting Warner Bros. Television Group CEO, Bruce Rosenblum sent a memo to his colleagues expressing his pride in his team's accomplishments and gratitude to long-time boss Barry Meyer.

He did not mention Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara, who took the reins from Meyer a few months ago  after a protracted "bake-off" between Rosenblum, Tsujihara and film studio head Jeff Robinov.

Amazon will not be pursuing a "Zombieland" series, co-creator Rhett Reese told his Twitter followers on Thursday night, blaming "die-hard" fans.

"Our 'Zombieland' series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved," Reese tweeted. "I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard 'Zombieland' fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence."

The final unaired episodes of "Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23" are playing out online and on select mobile devices, ABC Entertainment announced on Friday. The comedy was pulled from ABC's schedule back in January.

'Star Trek Into Darkness' Opens to $13.5M, Will Hit $100M by Sunday

“Star Trek Into Darkness” took in $13.5 million during its first day in domestic theaters Thursday, putting it on track to net $100 million by the end of this weekend, according to studio estimates. The film opened on 3,762 screens, 336 of them IMAX 3D.

J.J. Abrams’ second foray into Gene Rodenberry’s sci-fi universe is expected to surpass his first both at home and abroad.

The 2009 film opened to $75 million in the U.S. en route to a domestic gross of $257.7 million.
