TheWrap welcomed a packed house of celebrities, Oscar nominees and entertainment industry power players at its third annual Oscar party on Wednesday night at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The Culina restaurant rocked with congratulations and excitement for nearly 30 Oscar nominees, who gathered a day after the voting had closed for Sunday’s awards. Among attendees were acting nominees Demian Bichir from “A Better Life,” and the legendary Max Von Sydow from “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.” Nominated producers Michael Barnathan and Brunson Green from “The Help” attended along with J.C. Chandor, nominated for the screenplay of “Margin Call,” and Stan Chervin, nominated for the screenplay of “Moneyball.” Celebrities including astronaut Buzz Aldrin made merry with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Robert Forster from the cast of “The Descendants” hobnobbed with Missi Pyle and Beth Grant from “The Artist.” Actress Bai Ling and Jane Seymour joined producer Laura Bickford, “Like Crazy” writer-director Drake Doremus and “Paranormal Activity” director Oren Peli. Studio chiefs and industry leaders included Harvey Weinstein, whose “The Artist” is tipped to win Best Picture for his company for the second year in a row after “The King’s Speech,” Fox Searchlight's Nancy Utley, Sony Classic's Tom Bernard and Michael Barker, plus Ryan Kavanaugh, the CEO of Relativity. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Tom Sherak attended as did AMPAS CEO Dawn Hudson and COO Ric Robertson. Tech leaders included – besides Bezos - Jon Miller, the chief digital officer of NewsCorp, Tony Bates, the CEO of Skype, and Tony Orsten, CEO of twofour54.
