Michael Fassbender’s Law Degree Is a License to Steal in New ‘Counselor’ Trailer (Video)

Fassbender only plans to do a little stealing with it, though

According to Javier Bardem, Michael Fassbender isn't capitalizing on his law degree in the a new trailer for "The Counselor," an upcoming thriller directed by Ridley Scott and written by Cormac McCarthy.

"Counselor, I always thought a law degree was a license to steal," Bardem says. "But you, for one, haven't really capitalized on it."

"I don't intend to take this up as a trade," Fassbender responds.

What he's stealing, however, isn't exactly clear.

According to Brad Pitt's cowboy character, "It's pretty bad. Then multiply it by 10."

Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz and John Leguizamo co-star in the 20th Century Fox release about a lawyer who finds himself in way over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.

"The Counselor" debuts in theaters on Oct. 25. Here's the latest preview:
