Time-bending sequel will bring Fassbender's Magneto face-to-face with Ian McKellan's Magneto, though it is unclear if baseball will be involved
Two times come together in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the latest in Fox's film series based on the Marvel Comics franchise. Characters from the original trilogy come together with their counterparts from the more recent movies. This means Ian McKellan's Magneto will come face-to-face with his younger self, portrayed by Michael Fassbender.
Perhaps the McKellan version will be able to recall why he decided to steal a baseball stadium when he was younger. Fox's latest clip features Fassbender's Magneto calmly dropping down in the middle of the stadium and then simply ripping it from the ground and taking it with him, mostly in one piece still.
What's he going to do with a baseball stadium? Maybe they'll save the future by playing a game of pick-up baseball in the past.
“X-Men: Days of Future past was directed by Bryan Singer from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, based on a story by Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman. The 20th Century Fox film also stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Peter Dinklage. It will be released nationwide in theaters on May 23, 2014.
