Mindy Kaling Exits UTA (Exclusive)

The “Mindy Project” star has left the agency that helped establish her biggest deals

Producer, writer and actress Mindy Kaling has left her longtime representatives at United Talent Agency, TheWrap has learned.

Her representation for years, UTA has negotiated the biggest deals of Kaling’s career. In 2011, the agency not only secured her as an actress on NBC’s “The Office” for an additional season, but also won her an executive producer credit.

That same pact included a development deal with NBC’s sister company Universal. That deal would lay the groundwork for her current Fox comedy, “The Mindy Project,” which was recently renewed for a third season.

Kaling will go agent-less for the time being. She remains represented by 3 Arts Entertainment.
