Mindy Kaling Gets a ‘Five Year Engagement’

“The Office” ensemble player joins Rhys Ivans and Chris Pratt in the Universal comedy

Mindy Kaling, of "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "The Office," will appear in Universal's new comedy "Five Year Engagement," TheWrap has confirmed.

She'll play a graduate student.

Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star and Alison Brie co-stars in the movie directed by Nicholas Stoller.

Segel and Stoller wrote the screenplay, which follows an engaged couple's relationship.

Judd Apatow is producing through Apatow Productions. Stoller and Rodney Rothman also are producing. Segel is executive producing.

Erik Baiers, Universal's VP production, will oversee the project for the studio with creative executives Sara Scott.
