‘Mindy Project’ Star Ike Barinholtz Joins Seth Rogen, Zac Efron in ‘Townies’

Rose Byrne and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will also appear in the film

Ike Barinholtz will star opposite Seth Rogen and Zac Efron in “Townies,” an upcoming comedy about frat boys and their interaction with the local town.

Rogen plays a family man upset by the behavior of Efron's fraternity, spawning a rivalry ripe for comedy.

Rose Byrne, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have also signed on to the project.

Nicholas Stoller ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall") is directing the film for Universal from a script by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien.

Universal’s Erik Baiers is overseeing the project for Universal, which is distributing for producers Point Grey Pictures and Good Universe. Rogen, writing partner Evan Goldberg and James Weaver are producing for Point Grey while Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane are executive producing with Cohen and O’Brien.

Barinholtz is a regular on “The Mindy Project,” and will return in the show’s second season as Morgan. He is also an executive story editor on the show.
