Mira Sorvino is joining the cast of USA’s "Psych" for a multi-episode arc, the network announced Monday.
Beginning with the seventh episode of the upcoming eighth season, the Academy Award-winning Sorvino will play the Santa Barbara Police Department's newest head detective, Betsy Brannigan.

The character is described by USA as "an incredibly sweet, adorably reserved and yet certified badass." The announcement boasted that Brannigan will be taking down ruthless criminals and making sparkly crafts. Fans can look forward to Sorvino as "a scrapbooking, cat loving, crime-fighting machine."
Sorvino won an Oscar for best supporting actress in the 1995 Woody Allen film, “Mighty Aphrodite.”
