Miramax Names New Head of Domestic TV, Digital Sales

Joe Patrick tapped as SVP, responsible for all broadcast, cable distribution deals

Miramax announced on Monday that Joe Patrick, a former MGM executive, has been tapped as the studio's new senior vice president and head of domestic television and digital sales.

Patrick will be responsible for all of Miramax's domestic television sales to broadcast and cable networks, as well as all digital deals. He'll report to Mike Lang, Miramax's chief executive.

The hire will no doubt continue to fuel rumors of an imminent deal between Miramax and Netflix. On Friday, Reuters reported that the two companies were close to a $100 million agreement for Netflix to stream content from the film company's library.

At MGM, Patrick oversaw digital distribution and video-on-demand deals with clients including Apple, Hulu and Netflix.
