‘Mission Impossible,’ ‘Tintin’ Coming to IMAX in Paramount Pact

Four film deal also includes “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and “Super 8”

New installments in the "Mission Impossible" and "Transformers" franchises are getting the really big screen treatment.

As part of a four film deal with Paramount Pictures, IMAX will release four of the studios tentpole films this year. Among the movies getting an IMAX release are "Super 8," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," and "Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn."

In addition, like "The Dark Knight" before it, "Ghost Protocol" will boast sequences filmed with IMAX cameras.

"Super 8" will be released on June 10, 2011; "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" will be released on July 1, 2011; "Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol" will be released on December 16, 2011; and "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" will be released on December 28, 2011.
