Mitt Romney Coming to L.A. for March 27 Fundraiser

Harry Sloan, former MGM chief, will host an industry event if Romney secures the GOP nomination

Mitt Romney is heading back to Los Angeles for a fundraiser on March 27, according to Harry Sloan, chairman of Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. and the former CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Hollywood's most prominent Republicans may have been tight-fisted so far in the presidential race, with only a handful of moguls such as Terry Semel and Lionsgate Vice-Chairman Michael Burns cutting checks, but that could change as the field narrows.

Sloan has been one of Romney's biggest backers in the movie business. He has contributed $2,500 to the former Massachusetts governor's campaign.

Sloan told TheWrap that he will co-host the event on March 27 and that plans to host an industry event for Romney if he secures the nomination.

Romney has visited Los Angeles shaking a tin cup before. The Republican frontrunner also raised an estimated $1 million at a December fundraiser at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The Romney campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
