Mitt and Ann Doing ‘Live!’, Obama Back on Letterman on Talk Show Super Tuesday (Update)

Michael Strahan will host his first presidential candidate since assuming co-hosting duies

It's shaping up to be a super Tuesday for talk shows: Mitt Romney and his wife Ann will appear on "LIVE! with Kelly and Michael" in the morning, while President Obama will make his seventh appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" that night.

This will be the Romneys’ first appearance on a daytime talk show of the 2012 election, and comes two weeks after former NFL star Strahan was announced as Ripa's new co-host. Obama is making his second Letterman appearance since his election.

Throughout this election, Romney and opponent Barack Obama have favored more populist and less hard-hitting forums like “LIVE!” to connect with potential voters.

ABC News' senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper bemoaned Obama’s approach in mid-August, noting that the president hadn’t taken question from the White House press corps in more than two months. At the same time, he had spoken with People Magazine and Entertainment Tonight.

Strahan boosted the ratings for "Live!" last week, as the show notched its best premiere-week ratings in six years.
