Ratings: Golden Globes-Snubbed ‘Modern Family Wins Wednesday

“Modern Family” won’t be winning a Golden Globe, but it did top Wednesday’s primetime — if that provides any consolation. ABC finished first in the demo, while CBS was No. 1 in total viewers.

ABC was first in ratings with a 2.1 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in viewers with an average of 7.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 8 p.m. “The Middle” jumped 38 percent from last week to a 2.2/7 and had 8.1 million viewers. “The Goldbergs” at 8:30 rose 29 percent to a 2.2/7 and had 7.4 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 topped the night in ratings with a 3.1/10, and had 9.7 million viewers. “Black-ish” at 9:30 earned a 2.3/7 and 7.4 million viewers. “Nashville” at 10 received a 1.5/5 and 5.6 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 2.0/6 and first in viewers with 8.9 million. “Survivor” at 8 scored a 2.4/8 and 9.4 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” at 9 received a 2.1/6 and a primetime-best 10.1 million viewers. “Stalker” at 10 got a 1.4/5 and 7.3 million viewers.

NBC was third in ratings with a 1.4/4 and in viewers with 7.2 million. “The Mysteries of Laura” at 8 had a 1.2/4 and 8 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” at 9 got a 1.4/4 — down 22 percent — and 6.9 million viewers. “Chicago PD” at 10 received a 1.4/5 and 6.6 million viewers.

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and in viewers with 3.6 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 had a 1.3/4 and 3.8 million viewers. A second episode at 9 — marked as a special — got a 1.1/3 and 3.3 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and in total viewers with 2.7 million.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in total viewers with 2.4 million. The fall finale of “The Arrow” had a 1.0/3 — down 29 percent from last week’s crossover with “The Flash” — and 3 million viewers. “The 100” at 9 got a 0.6/2 and 1.7 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in total viewers with 1.3 million.
