‘Modern Family’ Star Sarah Hyland Joins the Cast of ‘Hair’ at the Hollywood Bowl

She joins Kristen Bell and Hunter Parrish in the Adam Shankman-directed musical

Sarah Hyland is going to spend three days in August singing on stage for a lot of people.

The “Modern Family” star has joined the cast of the Hollywood Bowl production of “Hair,” it was announced on Friday, and will play the role of Chrissy. She has some stage experience already, having played Jackie Bouvier in the Broadway staging of “Grey Gardens.”

Other new cast members of the Adam Shankman-directed staging include Mario as Hud, Jonah Platt as Woof, Benjamin Walker as Berger and Kevin Chamberlain as Dad.

The five stars join a cast that already consisted of “Veronica Mars” star Kristen Bell as Sheila, Hunter Parrish as Claude, “Glee” stars Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz as as Dionne and Jeanie, and Beverly D’Angelo as Mom.

The show will run August 1-3.
