MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski slammed White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Friday, saying her appearances on cable news are “like watching a car wreck.”
She called Conway a “repeated liar” and said she lands on television because her appearances generate “ratings porn.”
“So consistently she lies that it is almost like watching a car wreck on the highway when you’re driving by, you just can’t take your eyes off her. It’s gross, tabloid TV management ploy for ratings and that’s not our responsibility,” Brzezinski said. “This entire White House is lying to the country, which shows to me… this presidency is rotten all the way to the core.”
Brzezinski was clearly fired up on Friday, and ripped CNN for booking Conway during a different segment of the MSNBC morning show.
“Note to CNN. Sorry, I love CNN. But you’ve got to stop putting Kellyanne on the air. It’s politics porn,” Brzezinski said. “You’re just getting your little ratings crack, OK? But it’s disgusting.”
Brzezinski continued: “There’s nothing that she brings to the table that’s honest. Your hosts know it. Your hosts look pained when they interview her because they know they’re just doing politics porn.”
In February, Brzezinski declared Conway “as not credible anymore,” while publicly refusing to ever have her on “Morning Joe.”
“Every time I’ve ever seen her on television, something is askew, off or incorrect,” she said at the time.
