"Shameless" star Emmy Rossum would play a caretaker to a woman with Lou Gehrig's disease
Emmy Rossum could be sharing the big screen with Hilary Swank soon.
"Shameless" star Rossum is in negotiations to co-star with Swank in the upcoming film "You're Not You."
The film comes from Swank and Molly Smith's Alcon Entertainment-based 2S Films, and is based on the Michelle Wildgen novel of the same name. Swank will star as a victim of Lou Gehrig's disease, with Rossum co-starring as an aimless young woman who serves as a personal caregiver.
"Nights in Rodanthe" director George C. Wolfe is directing the project, from an adaptation by Shana Feste and Jordan Roberts. Swank and Smith are producing, along with Di Novi Pictures' Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan.
Swank and Smith's 2S Films, which is based at Alcon, previously produced the 2011 Ginnifer Goodwin/Kate Hudson film "Something Borrowed" and the romantic comedy "P.S. I Love You," which starred Swank and Gerard Butler.
Rossum also stars in the upcoming Alcon drama "Beautiful Creatures," which is scheduled for a Feb. 13 release.
