Focus Features has hired former Paramount and Jim Henson executive Louis Phillips as executive vice president, physical production, the studio announced on Thursday.
Phillips will be based out of Focus’ West Coast offices, overseeing all physical production and post-production for both in-house projects and acquisitions.
He reports to Focus president Andrew Karpen.
“Louis is a talented and well-respected executive with an impressive production and management background,” Karpen said in a statement. “Being both collaborative and creative, he understands the practical craft of filmmaking and will be a great addition to our team.”
Phillips last served as a production consultant at Lionsgate, co-producing “The Hunger Games” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”
Prior to Lionsgate, he worked in production at Jim Henson Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Buena Vista Pictures.
The USC graduate also executive produced movies including Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island,” David Fincher’s “Zodiac” and Andrew Davis’ “Holes” for Phoenix Pictures.
