George Lucas will marry his longtime girlfriend, the chairwoman of DreamWorks Animation board
George Lucas is engaged to marry longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson, a spokeswoman for Lucasfilm told TheWrap.
Hobson is chairman of DreamWorks Animation and is a prominent investor who runs Ariel Capital Management. She also contributes to "Good Morning America."
Last month, Lucas completed the sale of his company, Lucasfilm, to the Walt Disney Company in a deal worth $4.06 billion. Unshackled from the demands of running the special effects house and studio, the "Star Wars" creator" has said he plans to devote more time to philanthropy.
Hobson is 43 and Lucas is 68. It will be the second marriage for Lucas and the first for Hobson. Lucas has three children, Amanda, Katie and Jett from his marriage to film editor Marcia Lucas (1969-83).
There is no word on when the couple plans to tie the knot.
