IFC Picks Up 'Valhalla Rising'

IFC Films, has acquired U.S. distribution rights to viking action-adventure "Valhalla Rising," which premiered at the Toronto film festival.

 

Film was directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn and stars Mads Mikkelsen.

 

"Valhalla Rising" is about mute warrior of supernatural strength who eventually discovers his true self. 

 

Jonathan Sehring, President of IFC Entertainment said, "Nicolas Winding Refn knows film like no other director. He elevates genre to the realm of art and has established himself as one of the most audacious filmmakers working in Europe today."

 

IFC Films will release the film in 2010.
